Yesterday, we had our final eventful day of sailing at the Lahaina Yacht Club. In the beginning, the energy was certainly full of cheer and joy. We took the Bics out into the wide ocean and sailed far out by the catamarans and trimarans. Calm were the conditions until a slight breeze of wind appeared which was when the sailing actually started. We raced around the huge boats and we were told that they had not taken a group out that far. As we were ending lunch we presented our burgee thank you cards to the staff and volunteers. I could see that they admired the creativity of our thank you cards. After lunch, we were fortunate enough to be given the freedom to sail without restrictions for our last time. I was humored as I realize what we had chosen to do with the precious time. Overall, as I reflect upon my sailing experience, I am very grateful for the oppurtunity to spend the time as a class doing something that our teacher has a passion for.
