The one word to describe my experience at the Lahaina Yatch Club was,"Wow!" All that went through my mind was, "How can I do this?" Anyone who knows me can tell that I am a genuine indoor person, that I am not an outdoors adventurer. Learning about the open ocean was even more terrifying. At least on land you have some control, but out there you are in the breath of the ocean, at its control. After overcoming and ignoring my fears, I finally felt a rush of excitement. The eagerness to feel the wind. The struggles and disappointments were full of knowledge, the knowledge to experience a capsize. Because once we capsize and struggle we can always get back up and strive for more.
To have striven, to have made the effort, to have been true to certain ideals - this alone is worth the struggle.
