On September 27 and 28, our class went on a learning journey up to O'o farm. I had so much fun. I learned a lot. When we first got there we played tag. It was very hard to find everybody because they all had good hiding spots. After tag, the girls swept the yurt and organized the sleeping arrangements. When the yurt looked ready we went down to help with dinner. We picked fresh vegetables and herbs for the salad and lemons for the dressing. We also made pizza. On my pizza I had sausage, cheese, tomato sauce, and olive oil. It tasted like heaven. The funnest part of the day was tag the worst part was sleeping. I felt like a popsicle laying in a freezer. I kept tossing and turning all night. The roosters were yapping, my classmates were yapping. Not to mention I had slept on the floor with Krizhna because the boys took the bed. Anyway, I made it through the night and woke up at 6:15 for sunrise. We had a delicious breakfast and sat by the fire because it was freezing. We learned about coffee trees and the process of making the beans ready to grind. We even grew our own coffee trees. After that we learned about insects and how they affect the plants. We got into four groups and picked our category. I was with Chanel and our category was slugs and snails. There were four sections of the farm that we observed. Throughout all the sections we only found 6 snails and slugs which was really good news. I was sad when it was time to go but I had a great experience. I cant wait to go back in November for Ms. Enriquez's birthday.
