On Friday Oct. 17, 2013 The 8th and 7th grade classes went to Honokowai Valley. Nicole, Summer, James and I didn't go because we had to leave early or didn't turn our permission slip on time. I didn't go because last time I went there I had a bad experience. So instead Nicole and I went to 5th grade. We had a great time and we also got to go to the library but it was closed so I got as single scoop of delicious chocolate. Later, Nicole and I went to the library to ask if there were any books about smoking ads. There was a book on how to create an ad.
What can you do with recycle wood and windows? Wes Bruce designed a wonderful structure. This installation was built in one month. Wes used recycled wood and window from Maui and designed a wonderful piece of art. When you look right at the building it look like its just a hallway that had pictures on the wall, but when you go inside of this structure, you get the sensation of curiosity. The area I enjoyed the most was the hidden room under the bed. It was fun to go inside of the hidden room but there was many students inside at once. Another thing I enjoyed was the appearance. After we got finish exploring the whole house we went to the art room and build our own little room. We spent an half of an hour on that then we put all the room together. Overall I had a wonderful time and want to go back before they remove it from the MACC.
Yesterday was our second day sailing. In the beginning it was boring because there was no wind. After lunch I got to go in a Bic and the wind was great. The waves were huge and it was difficult to sail because I was getting knocked back and forth. I went faster than everybody but every time I tacked I either got capsized or stuck in the no go zone. Mike asked me to join junior sailing during the summer. My answer was yes. Overall I had a great experience and I cant wait for next time.
Yesterday (9-10-13) the 8th grade class of Sacred Hearts School went to Lahaina Sound by Maui Tacos to record Steve Grimes new song, "Where in the World are the Whales". Lahaina Sound is owned by Lynn Peterson and used to be owned by George Benson. Steve Grimes wrote "Where in the World are the Whales" 30 years ago. I had a great experience at Lahaina Sound and I hope that we can go back soon and sing more songs with Steve Grimes. Thank you Steve Grimes and Lynn Peterson for letting Sacred Hearts School 8th grade class come in and record "Where in the World are the Whales". |
