“Oremus” means lets us pray.
On Tuesday November 19, 2013 Canon Moreau was giving a Latin mass at the church. After the service he saw us praying in the courtyard and was watching us do prayer. Ms. Enriquez walked up to Canon Moreau and started talking to him. She asked if he can do a Latin mass for us and he said yes. Then, this Thursday we went to church for the Latin mass. We walked in and got handed a Latin and English mass book. There were two different kind of books; one red and one blue. I got the red book which had Latin on the left and English on the right. It was easy to understand what he was saying with the book. Before the whole mass, Canon Moreau talked a little about the Latin Mass and he also told us some analogies like when you receive the eucharist, just pretend that you are a fish getting fed. I found the mass to be more exciting because it’s not like what we do in regular mass. I love how we can follow along with the book and learn more about Latin. Later that day, Canon Moreau and Shiran came into our class and we got to say thank you and ask him the questions we had. I enjoyed this mass a lot and want to do another Latin mass soon.
