Have you ever been excited to go to an art installation? Well even if you haven't, you will still love Taken By Wonder by Wes Bruce at the MAC.C . Today's learning journey started like any other learning journey until the speaker said we would need flashlights to go looking into dark rooms and spaces then perked up. She introduced us to Jonathan, our tour guide. When Jonathan said we would have 45 minutes to explore, the learning journey became super fun and fascinating! We all took off in different directions in the exhibit. I didn't realize there were secret rooms until I overheard Brooke say something to one of her classmates. She had discovered a secret area under the bed! By the time I got there, she was crawling into a little opening under the bed that opened into a smaller room, and then a bigger room. It was truly amazing! I next heard someone say, "Lets go in the treehouse!" so I ran to see what it was. David had discovered the treehouse by noticing two pieces of rope hanging down. He thought, "Why would this rope be here?" Upon further investigation, he climbed onto the cargo netting and walked into an unexplored, unfound room.
We explored for the first 30 minutes, then spent the last 15 scaring each other. It was so much fun! After that we met up with Jonathan and went into a classroom where we were able to create our own creations of forts. He helped us to connect them all together which turned out really cool. Sadly, our chaperones were waiting to take us back to school and we had to end our learning journey, where we truly were "Living in Wonder."
